When “president” was translated into Chinese in nineteenth century, the most popular word was “Bolixitiende”⬚⬚⬚⬚⬚⬚⬚⬚⬚⬚⬚⬚⬚⬚⬚⬚⬚⬚. This essay focuses on how “Bolixitiende” as a “new term” was created, circulated and finally disappeared.
